Standing in the cold

When your dad was about two years old I noticed that he was coughing weird when he layed down to sleep. I called the nurses at Primary Children’s hospital so that they could listen to his coughing and tell me if I needed him to come in or not. The nurses told me to bundle him up (it was winter and very cold out) and take him outside for a half hour or so to see if that would help him.

So that is just what I did, standing outside with your dad in the freezing cold in the middle of the night with snowflakes falling around us. It did help his breathing. That was one of many nights of standing outside with your dad.

I was a single mom and had to get up early to get kids to daycare and school before I went to work. I didn’t have a car we traveled by bus back then, it took a while, well who needs sleep when you have your babies to take care of. I always felt very lucky to have my kids, I loved (and still do love them) very much, there was really nothing I wouldn’t do for my kids.

You must be getting big now Vash. I hope that you are happy and play and run fast and jump high. You are in my heart and always will be.

Forever and always
Your grandma Jayme

Dad’s B-day

Well I made it through another  one of your dad’s birthdays, how old is he this year? 33 I am sort of used to not seeing him or having much...
